Our District Chairman for the Inner Wheel Year 2017 - 2018 featured here from left to right: Pat O Keefe (District Chairman), Aileen Hargreaves (Immediate Past District Chairman) and Chris Barrett (District Secretary).

Pat's chosen charity for her year is Shooting Star Chase.

Shooting Star Chase is a leading children's hospice caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count. We support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Our bespoke support is free of charge to families and available 365 days a year. Our care service includes short breaks at our two hospices (Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford), Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family.

It costs £10 million a year just to maintain our current level of care. Around 10% of that income comes from government funding, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. What’s more, we know there are many more families desperate for our vital support, so it’s crucial we raise more funds to provide more care.

Find out how you can help the families we support by fundraisingvolunteering or working for Shooting Star Chase. Or if you think your family could benefit from our support please see the map of our catchment area or get in touch to find out more.

The Association President for the Inner Wheel Year 2017 - 2018 is Liz Thomas from the Inner Wheel Club of Great Yarmouth.

" Inner Wheel is special - a women’s organisation run by women for women for over 93 years, women who are caring, giving, doing and loving and who work together for the benefit of their community and indeed people further afield while enjoying friendship and fellowship.  In recent years we have widened our membership and are determined to move forward and meet the challenges of the modern world.

Inner Wheel means “making a difference”.  Thanks to Inner Wheel, someone, somewhere in the world, at home or abroad, has food, has clean water, has had his sight restored, feels less isolated thanks to the work and generosity of Inner Wheel members.  Whatever our natural talents, each of us can find a way to use them for the benefit of others and our own organisation.

The International Inner Wheel theme for 2017/18 is “Leave a Lasting Legacy” and we do!"

The Association President's charity for this year is local children's Hospices.
