1st Vice-Chairman -  Pat Wallace
I joined Inner Wheel in 1985 shortly after we moved from London to Horsham.  It had always been my ambition to move out of London into the countryside. My daughter and her husband live in central London and, although I enjoy the hustle and bustle of a short visit, I always breathe a sigh of relief as the train leaves Victoria.
As a teacher, I have worked with all age ranges from nursery to Adult Education.  Throughout my career, I have kept in touch with Adult Education, teaching a variety of subjects including history topics, dressmaking, numeracy and literacy.  Although employed by the Out of School Learning Service at the present time, I still teach the latter two subjects at evening classes in Horsham.
Most of my years in Inner Wheel have been spent on the Overseas committee.  This is the area for which I have a real passion.  We are so lucky in the West where we don’t have a hand to mouth existence and expect to live long and fulfilled lives.
I have a variety of interests but not too much time to pursue them.  I organise the flower ladies for my Church and am interested in updating my flower arranging skills through our local NAFAS.  My father restored antique furniture, so I have always had an interest in fine arts and antiques and I am an enthusiastic follower of ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.  A recent gift of a very small, light, digital camera has renewed my interest in photography.  As for computers, they can be all consuming - when they behave!
Taking on the post of  vice chairman is, I hope, a gentle way in to a commitment to Inner Wheel at District level. It is great to be part of the team.
